This medicine contains an antibiotic cefotetan which is a member of group of antibiotics named cephalosporins.

Apatef is used for treatment of the infections caused by some bacteria in many various parts of a body, including a stomach (a trunk of a body), a breast and female reproductive bodies.

It can be given also to prevent infections before, during and after operation. However, similarly to other antibiotics, Apatef will not work against colds, a flu, or other virus infections.

It is supplied as a liquid for an injection either in a vein or in a muscle and given to you by the medical professional.

You should inform the doctor if you have an allergy on penicillin because you can be also allergic on Apatef.
