Casodex - the medicine of an anticancer which contains a medicine bicalutamide and is used to consider a cancer of a prostate.

Casodex is used to consider a cancer of a prostate:

* It now is used in a combination with medical (other treatment of a hormone, for example, Zoladex (goserelin)) or surgical castration (removal of tests) for treatment of the advanced illness when the cancer was distributed to areas of a body far from gland of prostates.

* It also is used in earlier stages of a cancer of a prostate where the cancer is limited gland of prostates or the further was not distributed any than a fabric close to a prostate.

Casodex belongs to group of medicines named anti-androgens:

* It means, that it collides with some from actions of man's sexual hormones (androgens) within the limits of a body.

* Testosterone - a man's sexual hormone which in some stages of a cancer of a prostate helps to advance growth of cancer cells in iron of a prostate.

* Blocking action of testosterone, Casodex interferes with a sexual hormone to stimulate growth of cancer cells of a prostate and consequently stops or slows down their growth.

Casodex is supplied as the tablets taken once daily.
