Metronidazole and alcohol.


Do not drink alcoholic beverages while taking Metronidazole.

You may have unpleasant side effects such as:
- Warmth or redness under your skin;
- Vomiting;
- Tingly feeling;
- Nausea;
- Fast heartbeats;

Do not drink alcohol while you are taking Metronidazole and for at least 3 days after you stop taking it.

The combination can cause:
- Vomiting;
- Nausea;
- Headaches;
- Flushing;
- Abdominal Cramps;

It can also change the taste of the alcoholic beverage.

Alcoholic beverages should be avoided while taking Metronidazole and for at least one day afterward.

When you have stopped taking Metronidazole, wait at least 72 hours (3 days) before consuming any alcohol.

Check the labels of any medicines or food products you use to make sure they do not contain alcohol.

Also avoid over-the-counter medications containing alcohol, such as certain cough and cold products.
