Tenormin belongs to group of medicines named beta-blockers. It contains a medicine atenolol.

Tenormin is used to consider quinsy (the pain of a breast caused too by a small amount of oxygen, reaching intimate muscle) and a high blood pressure (hypertension).

Tenormin belongs to group of medicines named ö?¢ÿ-blockers. It means, that it blocks action of two chemicals named adrenaline (a hormone which carry in blood) and a noradrenaline (let out from nerves in heart) which operate an intimate rhythm. Tenormin stops these chemicals from the appendix (connecting) with sites on intimate cells named beta-receptors:

* It reduces intimate norm and force of intimate reduction of a muscle and lowers a blood pressure. Reducing intimate norm and force of reduction of a muscle, atenolol reduces the intimate requirement of oxygen of a muscle.

* As quinsy occurs, when the requirement of oxygen of heart exceeds delivery, Tenormin is useful in consideration of quinsy.

Tenormin the syrup and as an injection is supplied as a tablet.
